TIPS FOR SURVIVING OUTDOORS

TIP #1 - Poison Ivy? USE THE RIGHT STUFF

Tecnu makes the PI livable Why suffer needlessly!

Oak-N-Ivy BRAND ® tecnu ® Outdoor Skin Cleanser

They got this one right. We have had great success against Poison Ivy with tecnu® used before you go home or later to ease the itch or stop the spread.

Wow! Sure, the rash may still be there but nothing like it used to be without this product. How it stops the rash spreading we don't know but you can use it whenever it starts itching again (Call a doctor if it looks really bad, though.) Follow with Calagel or Tecnu Extreme. We found it at Walgreens.

“...[It was the wife of the scientist who made Tecnu originally for radioactive lab dust who] accidentally discovered that Tecnu would cleanse poison plant oils after exposure to poison oak and ivy.”
“Today tecnu® Oak-N-Ivy Brand® Outdoor Skin Cleanser is standard issue in first aid kits of outdoor professionals across the country...”

Finally available at some local stores (Walgreens or call 1-800-ITCHING for a store nearest you).

TIP #2 - Bring a First Aid Kit

Getting a splinter out may be easier with a tweezers and a sewing needle.

While carpenters may prefer a drywall screw, the average person does OK with a sewing needle. They can easily be carried in a wallet.

You may not think about this until you get a Hawthorne broken off in your hand.

Survivalists make usable needles out of Hawthornes to dig out a splinter but that can be too advanced for most people. Easier to bring a sewing sharp in your wallet IMHO.
